The Novi Manifesto
The first page we ever wrote, back when this was still SFMT. We changed the name and built the platform. We didn't change the thesis.
Before there was a product, there was a page. This was it: the original manifesto, written at the very beginning, when the whole company was an idea and a name we'd later outgrow. We're keeping it here, more or less as written, because everything we've built since is just this, made real.
We believe the ultimate sophistication lies in simplicity. Business modelling should be built by modellers, for modellers. No programmers needed. Three building blocks, lightning-fast calculations, zero programming. The FP&A tool we always wished existed.
Four principles
Everything starts here. Four words we put on the wall and never took down.
Easy
Easy to learn, easy to deploy. No SQL, no MDX, no proprietary scripting. Just simple Excel-like formulas and mouse clicks. Model in minutes, not months.
Simple
Three building blocks: Dictionaries, Tables, and Links. That's it. Like Sun Tzu said: with simple means, you can win any war. We apply this to business modelling.
Pragmatic
Focus only on what delivers real value. No shiny features that look good in demos but fail in practice. Every feature earns its place through actual utility.
Powerful
Multidimensional modelling that handles multiple entities, products, customers, departments, all in real time. Lightning-fast performance is our mantra.

Still the plan
The codename changed: SFMT became Novi. The team grew, the prototype became a platform, and the four principles met the hard edges of real models, real data, and real finance teams. None of them broke.
So this page stays. Not as nostalgia, but as a test we hold every release against: is it easy, is it simple, is it pragmatic, is it powerful? If a feature can't answer yes to all four, it doesn't ship. That's the whole job, and it started here.
